Project Description: Francis S. Gabreski Airport (ANGB) is located in Long Island (Westhampton Beach, Suffolk County), New York, approximately 80 miles east of New York City. It is home to the 106th Rescue Wing which operates HC-130 Hercules and MH-60G Black Hawk helicopters to provide war and peacetime aerial rescue services.
Shelters District furnished and installed a 15′ x 20′ overhear canopy to provide protection to personnel using two (2) above ground storage tanks. The project was completed as part of a design build with the owner, a local general contractor, and a third party engineering firm. The work consisted of the following:
- Professional Engineer (PE) stamped drawings
- Local permits and inspections
- Erection of the canopies
- Canopy lighting
- Painting and Signage
